Therapeutic Yoga & Mindful Movement

Therapeutic Yoga

Yoga and mind/body practices are powerful tools for wellbeing. Through yoga, we can build physical strength, decrease pain, restore vitality, release stress, and build resilience. Yoga can also help us find ease when we are experiencing a physical transformation—such as illness, aging, postpartum, chronic pain, or injury—or are depleted, stressed or burnt out. The purpose of yoga is ultimately not to fix ourselves but to awaken and release into the present moment, whatever it may be.

About Lisa

I’ve practiced yoga for more than two decades and began teaching in 2012; I’m also a lawyer and a parent. I developed a passion for science-based therapeutic yoga as a result of suffering for nearly 10 years from frequently debilitating physical symptoms that were finally diagnosed as POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). Today, while I am largely symptom-free, I know that mindful movement and stress reduction practices are critical for my long-term health. While yoga is not a cure-all, time and again it has brought me not only physical well-being, but strength, resilience, and the capacity for accepting life as it is in this moment.
